New Traditions

New Traditions

Christmas lost it’s magic for a few years for me. Growing up, moving out, trying to meld both Mitch and my family’s traditions into one, traveling here, there and everywhere... it just didn’t feel like Christmas anymore. But leave it to a baby to change all of that and reignite my excitement for the holidays. We are our own family now and we get to start our own traditions with Lucy and that’s exciting! Today we started with cutting our own tree down at a Christmas tree farm! It was a great little adventure!

We headed to a place just up the road from us. It was a neat little spot, nothing too manicured. An older gentleman lived there and told Mitch he just didn’t have the time to maintain it anymore. It ended up being exactly what I was looking for in a tree farm. A narrow winding road led us up the hill and just as we made it to the top, it started to snow. The scene could not have been more perfect. We got out and trekked around until we found our tree. I wish we could have spent longer there and with a pair of snowshoes! It was absolutely beautiful!
